Creatine kinase is an enzyme consisting of three major isoenzymes, CK-BB (brain), CK-MB (heart), and CK-MM (skeletal muscle). CK-MM has been described as a marker for muscle damage in your heart, brain, or skeleton after a crush injury, seizures, muscular dystrophy, muscle inflammation, or another skeletal muscle disorder.
