The scientists at ImmunoReagents have over 30 years of experience in production and purification of polyclonal antibodies. Our antibodies are used by the in vitro diagnostic, pharmaceutical and life science markets worldwide. We provide an extensive line of secondary antibodies developed in chickens, goats, rabbits and donkeys that are cross absorbed to remove unwanted activity to other species. In addition to our secondary antibodies, we provide affinity purified antibodies to human serum proteins, cancer and cardiac markers plus immunoglobulins and bulk serum.
ImmunoReagents also provides custom purification and/or absorption of antibodies to meet each client’s specific needs. Antibody development services are also available, and we would be happy to help you develop your antibody in either rabbits or goats. Immunoblots, ELISAs, and IEP testing services are available. PURIFIED IMMUNOGLOBULINS
Immunoglobulins are purified from serum obtained from normal, non-immune animals. Protein A chromatography, dialysis, and size exclusion chromatography are some of the methods used to purify the immunoglobulins. Our immunoglobulins are in liquid form, at 8-12 mg/ml. Since the immunoglobulins are purified from normal serum, they are excellent for use as blocking reagents or controls in immunoassays.

POLYCLONAL ANTISERUM
ImmunoReagents, Inc. obtains serum from healthy herds comprised of animals born and raised in, or legally imported into, the United States and located in Texas, Maine, California, Pennsylvania or Iowa. All animal facilities are licensed and inspected by the USDA for proper animal care and housing. All animal care facilities comply with all USDA animal welfare regulations for animals housed at their facilities. A USDA approved program of veterinary care is in effect and a veterinarian is available 24 hrs/day, 7 days/week. It is federally mandated in the US that animals not be fed proteins originating from ruminants.
ImmunoReagents, Inc. has received its EU 1774/2002 certification as a blood processing facility, NC-TEC-0002, for all ruminant and equine products.
1. Rabbits:
Rabbits are Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) purchased from USDA licensed and inspected facilities. The colony has maintained its SPF status and is Pasturella free. The animals are clinically examined and have no serological evidence of Rabbit Viral Hemorrhagic Disease (HVD) and/or Myxomatosis in the last 12 months. Country of Origin: USA
2. Goats/Sheep/Bovine
Animals are vaccinated annually for: rabies, 8 clostridial diseases including tetanus, and Bovine Rhinotracheitis/Parainfluenza. All animals are treated for internal and external parasites. All animals come from holdings in which there have been no outbreaks of Rinderpest, Scrapie, Foot and Mouth disease or Rift Valley Fever in the previous 12 months and within a radius of 25 km for at least 12 months. Our ruminant serum suppliers have obtained EU 1774/2002 certification as blood collection facilities. Country of Origin: USA

PURIFIED POLYCLONAL ANTIBODIES
Polyclonal antibodies are developed by immunizing animals with highly purified proteins. The antibodies are then isolated from the antiserum by specific affinity chromatography techniques. For each antibody, the antigen is coupled to an agarose resin. The antiserum is passed over the resin and non-bound proteins are washed off the resin. The remaining antibodies are eluted using a neutral pH buffer, which avoids denaturation associated with low pH elution. The antibodies are in 0.1 M Sodium Phosphate, pH 7.2 (+/- 0.2) 0.85 M Sodium Chloride with 0.05% (w/v) Sodium Azide. The concentration range is 6-12 mg/ml.
Many of our antibodies are digested with pepsin to produce F(ab)’2 fragments which are further purified over size exclusion chromatography to remove Fc fragments and undigested antibody. The F(ab)’2 are in 0.1 M Sodium Phosphate, pH 7.2 (+/- 0.2) 0.85 M Sodium Chloride with 0.05% (w/v) Sodium Azide. The concentration range is 6-12 mg/ml.
Additionally, the purified antibodies are absorbed to remove unwanted binding properties. This produces antibodies that are highly specific and can be in immunoassays where specificity is important.
